D-A Heat Transfer Oil No. 300™ may be used in most major asphalt heaters and other types of heat transfer systems requiring a mineral oil as a medium for storing and transferring heat. It possesses excellent natural temperature stability when subjected to the high temperatures encountered in most heater systems. It is not unusual for some heat transfer systems to operate at an oil temperature in excess of 400°F, which means that the heater tube walls themselves can be considerably hotter. The most important criteria of a heat transfer oil is temperature stability.
D-A Heat Transfer Oil No. 300™ provides the required temperature stability with a minimum of coking, which is the reduction of a petroleum product to carbon in an atmosphere devoid of oxygen. D-A’s research indicates that the tendency of an oil to coke is dependent on the methods used to refine the base oil. D-A Heat Transfer Oil No. 300™ is produced from a carefully selected base oil that has been refined in such a manner as to provide maximum natural temperature stability and reduced coking.
